Nelson (1911) .22 Conversion

Received one of Larry Nelson's .22 conversions yesterday.
Installed a 1.5 min. Adco dot scope and slipped the unit on a beater RIA frame I put together exclusively for .22 conversions (I have one of Bob Marvels original units that I built the frame for)-I don't shoot a lot of .22.
The conversion unit is a refined version of (and designed by Mr.) Marvel's original (slide lock back and dry fire permissible) and was produced by Mcmillan (per Mr. Nelson).
Great pedigree.

While the frame is rough it is set up like my other 1911's; arched MSH, short trigger, decent hammer/sear (2.25#). The frame is obviously not checkered and the thumb safety is a standard Colt.
The saying; "pretty is as pretty does" comes to mind......

Took it to the range this AM to dial it in and see if it would "shoot". I had some Aguila standard velocity .22 that is not top of the line, but had proven accurate in my other Marvel unit and a Pardini Fiocchi.

The Adco dot scope gave me some trouble as the "dot" had a "tail"-the dot was not clearly defined (if you've shot a dot scope you'll understand). In short; precise repeat-ability was an issue with the scope.
No group was over 3/4" @ 25 yds. and the best two were 3/8".
I was quite pleased with the unit.

My thinking is; with a 2X conventional pistol scope, GOOD ammo (TenX) and a windless day (good luck here in Kansas..) this is quite likely a .5", certainly .75" @ 50 yd. conversion.

Thank you Larry.

I am gonna bump this with a question. Is it possible to order (for example) a unit with a sight rib and also order a scope rib so that you could switch back and forth?
