No serial number late WWII Hi Power

I believe this to be a Hi Power that was made right after the plant was liberated by the GI's. I have the name of a veteran that returned with the weapon and after doing a lot of research it appears to be one of the very few that were produced and sold to GI's for as little as $5. It has Belgium proofs, no serial number and on the left side of the barrel I did find a very light WaA140 stamp. I know I have a late b series which should have been made just a month or so before liberation and they appear very very similar right down to the brown bakelite grips.

Here it is beside my 1944 b series

And the one German proof I found on the barrel

Here is a close up of the proofs on the left side of the gun. You can see like the 1943 a series and the 1944 b series that it never had a magazine safety. Note no hole in the rear of the trigger.

Nice one, Max. Your photos are as nice as the pistola. Still looking for a German-issue P35 in nice shape.

Thanks Bob, I really think I did good with this one. It seems there is one almost identical to it on page 303 of "FN BROWNING PISTOLS" book put out by wetdog publications. It would confirm it to be a Sept 1944 production and seems that the first few liberated build weapons had no serial number on them and were in fact built out of left over German built parts.
