Dupont S Coating

Is this the same as Baer Coat?

I can't find much info about it, even on the Dupont site.

I picked my SRP about 6 months ago..... I assume it has the new coating. It is new, isn't it?

Thought I knew, but i don't know now:

This superior state of the art finish is one of the best we’ve ever seen. It provides advanced corrosion protection, abrasion resistance, hardness, and unmatched durability. The somewhat slick feel reflects its self-lubricating characteristics. Bear Coat™ uses Dupont S, a product of DuPont.

Dupont S Coating....

Thanks for the info... I was trying to related to the info on the Dupont site

My opinion is that the SRP coating (BearCoat) is great... everything I want it to be, except not particularly durable. Holster wear (kydex) was evident in about 2 weeks....

We tested several different DuPont coating from what is referred to as the Teflon-S and found that they were not very abrasion resistant at all

Du Point S and Bear Cote are different things.
The latter has a better rep.
The former is what is being used on new production Baers.
