dads buying a pt1911

any special break in procedures or special things to watch out/do for these guns?

Drop a little lube on it and go out and shoot it. No break in period for it... Have fun...

Field strip it, clean it, OIL it well, hand cycle it (as many times as you can stand. 20-100times? ) and check for ruffness or binding, field strip and clean again. OIL WELL (over well, LOTS) and go have fun. Remember a clean rag to wipe the excess oil off that will come out when you start firing it. Clean it well when your done, lube, and it should be good to go. I now use FP-10 lube. JMHO.
