Remington 1911R1 Independence Day Fun

Unfortunately, I didn't take pictures, but yesterday I was finally able to get to the range. I was eager to shoot with my new Checkmate GI mags, Wolff 16.5 pound recoil spring, and Harrison design long trigger.
200 rounds sent with not one hiccup! Before I was having failures to go into battery. The recoil spring seems to be an improvement over the stock one. I also used my factory mags as well as the new ones.
The trigger was the biggest improvement for me, helping my finger land more comfortably on it. With the short factory trigger I had to sort of crook my finger out to have my finger pad touch it, which just felt odd.
I started with 5 mags with 2 rounds in each just because I wanted to make sure the new trigger didn't change something in relation to the sear/disconnecter. (I had checked it's dimensions with a dial caliper and micrometer and it was identical to the factory, but I just had to be sure!) I took my time with the shop book as I was installing it, making all of the checks to ensure a good operation.

All in all it was a good day!
