Ruger 77/22 not cocking

Just started shooting my 77/22 again, after retirement. I took the action and barrel out to clean, after putting it back together again. It sometimes has the trigger release, when closing the bolt. The gun doesn't fire, but I must lift the bolt to reset the trigger. Anyone have this problem?wimpy

I am not familiar with that issue, but I would recommend calling Ruger Customer Service - they are excellent. I had an extraction issue with a rifle, we talked on the phone and they sent me some parts, that didn’t fix it, so they had me ship the rifle to them and fixed it within the week. I was shocked, great experience, they paid for all parts/shipping.

Wow! sounds like great service. Tanks for giving me an answer so fast. I just came back from my range, and I was adjusting the tightness of my action screws, when I loosened them the problem stopped , but my groups opened up , from this morning, also I was shooting in more wind. Sure glad I have lots of time to mess around.lots of things to factor in. Wimpy
