Hello from Illinois

I surfed into this forum while looking for info about Browning Hi Powers. Iím getting older, used to shoot a good bit in my younger years, but havenít been out much in the past 25+ years. I am changing that, am in the process of getting my concealed carry license.

I bought a 1987 Ďsportí (adjustable sights) Hi Power new, shortly after I got out of college. As far as I can tell itís built as a classic Ďtype 73í, oddly enough with a type B adjustable rear sight. It has the the firing pin stop, but no other MkII changes as far as I can tell.

Nice shooting pistol, love the feel, but the trigger is awful. I am investigating improving it, will likely have a good local gunsmith install C&S extended safety, hammer and sear, and trigger. But Iím still reading.

Looking forward to learning a lot!

Hi from North Dakota
Formerly "flinch" on the forum, but that's a story in itself

Welcome from Iowa where I live on the west bank of the Mississippi river.
I have a Tisas BR9 clone of the Hi Power and love the feel and performance of this family of guns.

Welcome to this 1911 forum site from Italy.

If you are collecting, don't be drawn to an example that is not original, nor correct; instant gratification is more expensive than a good education.
