Any smiths in Arizona?

I'm looking for a good 1911 smith in southern arizona, preferrably near Sierra Vista, that can do barrel fitting, trigger jobs, and reliability work. Anyone know of one?

Do a search. Arizona is literally flooded with great smiths (not the least of which is Yost-Bonitz in Tempe, one of the premier smiths in the world.

There is also Robar in Phoenix

Gary Reeder in Flag

and dozens of others. You are in a "target rich environment" for the gunlover

Most smiffs.......Arizona or Arkansas?

Most good smiffs......AZ or AR?

That Rogers guy isn't accepting ANY work. Maybe Social Security pays better than smiffing?

Put your feet up boys, it's gettin' deep! I would bet that Chuck is way too ambitious to even think about not pulling rabbits from his hat...

More 1911 'smiths and shooting schools in AZ than any other state in the Union.

Lots of good and not so good smiths here in AZ. I found the not so good ones through first hand experience If your near Mesa, AZ go to Marty and Derek at Accuracy Speaks, right at the Rio Salado Shooting club. Rogers and Yost aren't taking work right know, I believe. Frank Glenn is a great smith in Phoenix and McLearn is great but he is up North as is Don Williams, who is also excellent.

I live in SV and haven't found anyone that I'd consider competent except for one young (early 30s) guy I've seen at the range with SBR ARs and a well done 6" Caspian 10mm. I didn't get his info because I don't need any work done immediately.

By competent I mean that they can do the work better than I can for myself.

Without making slanderous or libelous statements I'll just say that I REALLY think you're much better off going to one of the smiths in the north end of the state.

If Mr. Chuck Rogers is not takin' new stuff these days, you might consider Mr. Don Williams of The Action Works. Frankly, I'm pretty surprised that his name wasn't one of the first few mentioned.

Best,
Jon

News to me. I can't speak for Chuck, but I haven't stopped taking on new work for twenty five years - I can't think of any reason to close up now.

Maybe, but it's a safe bet that you'll get there before I will.
