Yeah that's a shame. I got this one for my son last year. Great shooter, easy to carry. What not to like?

Lovely 1911 gun.

could you not have the custom shop make you one? I heard they will make just about anything you want. It might a lil more pricey but you would have one.

I was just looking at the Springfield web site. Wanted to check out the Compacts. When I realized they were gone I came here for info.
I'm very disappionted. I passed on a Compact a couple months ago for a little over $900. If I had only known...

Wow! I just seen a micro compact w rail light and all on my LGS. Hmmm, may have to jump on her before I won't be able to buy one anymore ;( curious as to why they stopped making them? Any reasons that anybody knows? Inside knowledge per se?

It looks like they dropped a lot of the loaded line.My guess is they couldn't keep up with the demand.

Yes. I noticed the Long Slide and a couple others were gone too.
The Compact/MicroCompact surprised me because of the concealed carry demands

I'm going to have to unsubscribe to this thread. I can't take it (the photos that make me drool) any longer.

Don't know much about other MICRO's,... but, my Ultra Compact HC (high capacity) wide body was originally issued in 1998 and discontinued in 2002,... if memory of my phone call with Springfield is correct, it has been awhile.

I would love to find another!

Just bought a Micro Compact today. Found it in a small gun shop on the Navajo reservation. I've had a Springfield EMP on order for months - despite the ad blitz for the EMP apparently they don't make them in the factory. You'd think the ad guys would advertise something they had for sale. But anyway, asked the little shop if they happened to have one. Owner said no, but he had a Micro Compact...close enough for me so I bought it. This place is so remote that it had been in his safe since 2003. Still new in the box. We cut a deal...And he even had ammo for it!! I'm not finding ammo in the big cities but I am finding it in the rural small town gun shops and trading posts - places you'd not expect they'd sell guns but have a few available.

Found the Micro Compact easy enough to disassemble with instructions (my first 1911) but a challenge to reassemble following the directions "reverse the disassembly process." Hey Springfield - THAT DON'T WORK!! ....thank God for you tube...finally got it back together. It was dry after ten years in the desert. FrogLubed it up and we're off to the range tomorrow to see how she does.

I have this SA Compact; it has a 4" barrel and Officer frame, and
I believe it is from the 1990's, but I can't find any info on it
anywhere. It's like new and i have the box, original grips,
and it's all steel. The new "SA Compact" is different.
