1911 Range Day

I hit the range today with a good friend. He brought a Colt M45 A1 Marine, two Commanders one in 9mm the other in 45 ACP and a Baby Rock in .380. I brought my WC CQB Elite , WC CQB Commander, an early production Randall Service Model and a Colt Combat Commander in 9mm. Everything ran like a fine tuned watch. I ran 5 fast shots with the Colt Marine and had a group with a three hole cloverleaf and two flyers within 2 inches. it was a soft shooting accurate pistol. The 9mm Commander was almost like cheating, it was easy to keep the shots centered and on target. The only down check on the whole day was the Fiber Optic rod in my CQB Elite had disappeared sometime during the 100 rounds of fire, but it was old, needed to be replaced and with it gone this sight picture was still easy to pick up. After 400 rounds of fire the only I left wanting for was more ammo. It was a great day at the range, but you know what they say "A bad day at the range is better than a good day at work".

Love to hear of days like that! Kudos to you spending quality time with a friend. Oddly enough, I enjoy the cleaning part almost as much as the shooting.

Definitely my kind of day!

My 9mm Commander with bobtail is quickly becoming my best/favorite shooter. It IS like cheating.
