Who makes “good” X9 Kydex?

First off, I’ll admit I’m a holster snob. There. I said if.
I LOVE leather.....
But someone recently asked me who makes “good” Kydex for the EDC X9?
My only real experience with Kydex is Raven and they have really changed up their game since they started.
I have a few pieces from Veil but honestly I’m looking for a BN Professional style straight drop OWB holster. Any suggestions?

I have JM’s for Glocks, 1911’s and Berettas

For all day OWB comfort I’d stick with leather.

Tier one concealment makes a nice kydex holster, I have an appendix one for my EDC 9. I believe it’s the same as the X9 fitment.

Who makes “good” X9 Kydex?

I just received a Range Series Holster from Fury Carry Solutions (with Safariland QLS) for my EDC X9 and am extremely pleased. It took all 4 of the estimated weeks to arrive, but the molding quality, thickness of Kydex, and options available are all on-point.

They have several models available, and the mounting systems and/or belt loop options vary based on use case. At any rate it’s a top-tire product and works flawlessly with my T.Rex Orion belt/rig I use for range time and classes.

Try to think of it as “minimalist stabilized leather for reduced form factor”, or “best of both worlds”, or something, say, more on the positive side! As nice as leather is, not living in Tombstone AZ, I have trouble convincing myself to strap on a big old gun belt and a hog leg holster twice the size of the pistol in all directions. Carrying concealed, for me, means a smallish holster, with good retention. But I feel your pain - kydex doesn’t have a soul. It is not traditional, unlike a 9mm 1911, with no grip safety. Wait...what???

Another possibility for you to look at is Garrett Holsters - several folks on this forum have posted about how happy they are with theirs. IIRC, you can get them unlined, or leather lined.

Yes, Tony's kydex is tops in design and execution. Highly recommended.

I am also a leather holster snob. As far as Kydex I used a lined Garrett at the range for a few months but have switched back to just leather. For a Kydex holster Garret makes an extremely nice one and with the leather lining it gives you a leather lining for protection and the thinness of Kydex. I have not looked at their site to see if they make one specifically for the X9.

My EDC-X9 is my constant companion.
It resides in an Alabama Holster ‘Offside’ IWB.
The holster is simple, excellent ‘lock in’ and retention.
I did have to send my BlueGun for the proper fit as the normal Commander holster just did not Provide enough ‘lock in’.
You have to order on-line and wait but if you want kydex, Alabama makes an excellent product I have been using for years.-Richard
