A lot of hate on Glock here. I am a fan of the Glock pistol, but then I have always been attracted to nerdy chicks! I am also a 1911 owner/fan, and I would definitely buy a Glock 1911. I am convinced that if Glock made a 1911 it would be reliable and darn near indestructible. From personal experience, Glocks work very well for me.

Even though Sig already makes a 1911, I think it would be cool if they could make a 1911 conversion kit for the P320.

However, I liken it to asking if John Deere made a Corvette would you consider buying it? There are so many variables involved (ifs) how can it be answered reasonably be answered.
Calm down, hub...its just conjecture. You know, for fun?? Take the stick outta yer ass.

No.

There is a Les Paul and a Telecaster. Why buy a Gibson that "Sounds almost exactly like a Telecaster!!" when you can just buy a Telecaster? Or buy a Fender that "Sounds almost exactly like a Les Paul!!" when you can just get the real deal?

Glock is really good at being a Glock and they still sell like hot cakes so I don't see that decision coming up any time soon.

The only way it will happen is if Gassbag thinks he can make some money at it.
If that’s the case, it will be made by another company with Glock stamped on it and have nothing to do with his manufacturing. It will not be a Glock. One thing is for sure, a gazillion people will buy it and proclaim that it is the best 1911 in the world!

A Glock-made 1911 would probably closely resemble a Kimber BP-10. The BP-10 even has a plastic grip safety!

There's a bigger chance of Glock making a .22 than a 1911. If Glock made a .22 their fan boys would be flocking to the stores to buy them. ( I know, it's a joke)

If Glock made a (real) 1911 it would be too heavy for Glock guys to pick up.

If Glock made a 1911 . . . NO! Now if H&K made one . . . well that would be a different story. Just messing around BUT as a H&K fan close to the truth.

Well, ya gotta consider which forum you are on too. You’ll find far less “hate” over on Glock Talk. The problem is that far too may Glock owners are misguided and have been brainwashed into thinking that the Glock is THE superior weapon. They further infuriate the gun owning public by getting up on a soapbox and professing such nonsense. Those that also own several other types of decent pistols keep a lid on it. The crazy thing is that some of these guys own 4 or 5 of them!! Nothing else....never have! No wheelers, no 1911’s, Wilsons, Baer’s or Wesson’s. They continue to beat the drum about the Glock being the best gun in the world. That, my friend, is the reason that there is a bit of disdain from some of us toward brazen comments about “Glock Perfection”. It is merely an OK pistol that is reliable, nothing to see here folks!

Korth makes an HK 1911. It's a cross between a 1911 and a P9. If it was $1200 I'd buy one.

For some reason, I have a bit more faith that Korth could pull off a complete style change compared to Glock giving a run at a 1911. I also get this funny image in my head when I think about the nutty idea of Glock making a black revolver.

I do not see it happening. Glock does what it does best, builds Glocks. What Glocks and 1911's do have in common is a very large after market for customization and parts.

Oh....wait......
That was a good gun before they started building it. They turned Reed Knight's gem into a turd.

The closest Glock as gotten to making something unique is the 46 with the rotating barrel (not available in the U.S), and a straight blow back 22 called the 44. Every self-proclaimed "groundbreaking" item they make is remarkably unimpressive. When they made a 19 with a 17 length grip, Glock fan bois acted like it was the second coming of Christ.

Yeah, and that’s the most irritating part.
They did come out of their box a little with the 44, but as usual, the design team was on vacation. Looks like a turd with serrations.
