Just bought a Lyman trigger pull gauge. Around here if I want any gun-related stuff I have to please myself.

Avoid the temptation to replace everything on your brand-new 1911 just to make it "better". Know what you're changing out and why. You may spend a lot of money fixing things that weren't broken to begin with. Shoot at least 500 rounds through it first, then decide what you don't like and want to improve. Regarding vintage 1911s, pre-1970 pistols are highly collectible in original, unaltered condition and should NEVER be refinished or modified as it completely ruins their monetary value.

What I want I can get here in Commiefornia unless I buy private party and I'm not paying twice the street price which is the going rate.

The worst part is my wife just told me today she was expecting me to buy a new gun for myself for Christmas.

Iíve been shooting a lot of sporting clays lately with my Maverick 88. Been looking at affordable over unders. They do get pricy.

I asked the GF for a LabRadar Ballistic Velocity Chronograph. I'll probably get a sweater.

Always buy something for myself this time of year. Last weeks purchase was an older P226. Longer trigger reset than Iíd like but incredibly accurate. 150 rounds of my 124 reloads and I was quite happy.

Tomorrow, swapping out two older guns for a new(er) P229 elite carry, sweet SRT.

Thanks Santa!

I asked for a few things.

Just in case they don't work out, I bought a couple cases of primers and wrapped them/set under tree... tagged them to me from wife. Just trying to help ease her shopping burden in this stressful time!

I know I’m getting a set of VZ grips for my S&W N frame ( it was delivered when I was home).

That said, having been happily married for 37 years to she who must be obeyed, I’ve found it easy just to email her the link of the toy I want in today’s internet enabled world. Back in the pre internet day, I often got sweaters like Flight Medic........

I was shopping around for one of those. It does not have to be pristine, or have box or papers. I just want to own one to shoot it. My plans were changed when I was offered a customized Baer I could not say No to . So 2020 for me as well.

Dear santa,

I've been a good boy this year. I would like a holster, mag carrier and belt for my 1911, so's I may carry it around the house properly.

Santa delivered, in the form of a very modest bonus. Part of it went to El Paso Saddlery, they're making me a GI holster for my Series 70 and mag pouch, and Klikbelt already made me a belt to match in leather. All of it russet or thereabouts.

Got the belt already, but the EP leather is probably a good two months out. Oh well, I will gladly wait for a hand-made heirloom and not some mass-produced chinese thing.

I am 17 years into my life sentence. Every year I tell her I like guns and reloading components. Of course then every year she asks me what I would like. This year I said "Colt Python with 4" barrel". She said "not happening". So then I said "small pistol primers".

She said "how do I know what those are"!

Sigh.....

Probably getting socks & underwear.....again...

I'm waiting to January 3rd, that's my bday and if I ain't spent too much the next 2 weeks I might snagged a used FEG Hi Power that's at a pawn shop near me.

If it's gone a friend of mine is talking about selling his Beretta M9 with only 100 rounds on it, I told him I'd give him $400 bucks for it since Gunprime sells them for around $430 new from time to time
