New legislation introduced in Virginia

Numbers 1 and 2 are concerning because in 1 is using tannerite considered mixing explosives? In 2 is having a training class and using silhouettes considered one or more persons gathering and training to harm people which is what you do in most modern SD classes, you train to stop or eliminate threats.

Disturbing....

SD training will become unlawful/illegal? Am I reading this correct? Or is the statement “....for use.....in civil disorder” a qualifier? The new Legislators aren’t wasting much time are they.

I read that, and I think "Dude, they're terrified of a rebellion or insurrection"

I am surprised that Tannerite hasn't been banned long since.

Make your preparations and planning very privately. Only you and your close associates need to know. Don't even discuss it with your children unless they are mature enough to be onboard with the issues at hand.

I am sure they will stretch the definitions away they want. That bill was written rather idiotically, in that intent is always very hard to prove. More laws to cover what was given to us by Moses, and where did that go?

This is one of those cases where it begins with good intentions but will result in unintended consequences. They want to put a stop to white supremacists and neo-Nazis creating armed training camps. But the language of the law will make IDPA shooting and tactical training illegal as well, because it's all about intent. Unless you can prove that you're not training people for the purpose of committing crimes or causing social unrest you'll be breaking the law.

Regarding vintage 1911s, pre-1970 pistols are highly collectible in original, unaltered condition and should NEVER be refinished or modified as it completely ruins their monetary value.

Disagree. There was nothing well intentioned about that.

I can just see the cops showing up to myself and some friends having a shoot.

I would just tell them why no officer we are not training. We trained a long time ago. We are just having fun now, no training involved.

Some of these hair brained bills just sound like some kind of newer version of Jim Crow. Laws that can and will be very subjectively enforced at the whim of whoever is in office at any given time.

Virginia has fallen to the Communists. The VA. voters should have been more careful what they wished for. Once Liberals get a taste of power in the Legislatures, it's downhill from there.

We didnít all wish for this. The urban areas of the state and transplants from elsewhere outnumber the rest of the state. Look at an election map, 95% of the land area went red. Iím sure there are some that couldnít be bothered to vote though. My Delegate won re-election on a write in, wasnít on the ballot. Itís a rural, conservative district though. GOP state senator also won re-election. Both good men who will fight the good fight for whatever good it will do.

It’s no wonder that VA went leftist. In many jurisdictions the Republican party never fielded an opponent to the Democrat candidate. The Republican party abandoned VA. My son is a FFL and a NRA instructor in VA and he knows that soon he will be considered a felon...

I don't know dsk. People who are rather open about destroying our God given rights are going to save us from "white supremacists"? Considering how law enforcement already keeps a very close watch on those groups, I don't see the threat that is worth surrendering the Constitution, especially when our government overseers seem to have so little concern about their violent pet groups like antifa and others, not to mention all of the other violent criminals that infest our cities. Where is their concern about that? Seems to me what they really want is to make sure they can impose their Soviet style government with no resistance.

I doubt there are any good intentions to begin with. They will probably claim ANY firearms training to be ďtacticalĒ and spin it to say you ARE training to cause social unrest or over throw the government. Seriously, think about how many time gun owners state the 2nd Amendment was to ďfight a tyrannical governmentĒ.

Most of those districts are the ones that a bag of trash with a D beside it will get elected over a GOP candidate. Iíve read that Bloomberg funneled 2.5 million into VA candidates, in addition to all the other fundraising.

It's only a matter of time before everyone in Virginia (myself included as a former New Yorker -- upstate NY... upstate... NOT NY City!!) start to take a stand and holler out:

ENOUGH!!!

Well despite being a holiday.

Three more counties got on board with sanctuary today. In my own county of Floyd. I got a notice today saying that the location of the 12/10 vote on the resolution had to be moved from the normal meeting place for the county board of supervisors to the high school due to the anticipated high turn out.

See you there!

I said this on the other Virginia thread and I'll say it again here. They are willing to declare war on us...and they are willing to do anything and everything, bare any burden, pay any price, to take over this country and then destroy everything it stood for. And we are not willing to fight back with the same commitment, we are not willing to do anything and everything, bare any burden, pay any price, to save America. What is happening all across this country is the result of our failure to walk our talk, to put our money and lives where our mouths are. Bitching and moaning in forums and chat rooms is not what its going to take. If we don't have the same balls and beliefs in America that the men on D-Day did, then we will lose this fight...and we will deserve to.

The ongoing disgusting actions and behaviors from the democraps running things in Virginia are bleeding over into 2nd Amendment rights violation.

There are few groups I hate, pretty much limited to: terrorists, thieves, cowards and criminals.

The democrap "leadership" of our country is comprised of just such groups and I now hate them, too.

Disgusting human scum with no morals and evil belief systems. We need our guns now more than ever.

This didn't happen overnight.

Back in June of 1983 we had just arrived for my assignment at the Pentagon, and were living in nearby Fairlington in northern Virginia. One night, after work, we were headed over to a shopping center in nearby Baileys Crossroads.

We stopped in at a Popeye's restaurant there for a quick bite to eat. WOW! We were shocked----the entire place was full of people, and it looked like we had entered a middle eastern country.....all the customers, and all the staff. We ate, and left.

That was 36 years ago. And now, all of northern Virginia looks like the melting pot of the world, and votes Democrat.

Drip---drip---drip.

Yep. Living in NoVa is akin to living in the UN.
