California Adopts Broadest US Rules for Seizing Guns

Jerry Brown vetoed this twice:

California Gov. Gavin Newsom on Friday signed a law that will make the state the first to allow employers, co-workers and teachers to seek gun violence restraining orders against other people.

The lawyers must love this.

I am thinking that eventually this thing will blow up in their collective faces up there in Sacramento.

Wait for the next bill to expand this to your neighbors. The antis have found a way to take peoples' guns away and they're milking it for all it's worth. Pretty soon you won't even dare give the middle finger to a jerk who cut you off in traffic without the risk of losing your guns over it.

Regarding vintage 1911s, pre-1970 pistols are highly collectible in original, unaltered condition and should NEVER be refinished or modified as it completely ruins their monetary value.

... and they are so proud of their sweeping totalitarian rule defying the US Constitution. Newsom said this as he signed the bill:

https://www.nbcsandiego.com/news/loc...562835041.html
Quote:
"California has outperformed the rest of the nation, because of our gun safety laws, in reducing the gun murder rate substantially compared to the national reduction," Newsom said as he signed the measures surrounded by state lawmakers. "No state does it as well or comprehensively as the state of California, and we still have a long way to go."
I'll translate that into American English, not Orwellian English for you folks:

Quote:
The state is based on this contradiction. It is based on the contradiction between public and private life, between universal and particular interests. For this reason, the state must confine itself to formal, negative activities.

Communism is the riddle of history solved, and it knows itself to be this solution.

The entire movement of history, as simply communism’s actual act of genesis — the birth act of its empirical existence — is, therefore, for its thinking consciousness the comprehended and known process of its becoming.

Karl Marx 1844
No need to thank me for the translation.

It's up to the courts to strike this kind of crap down. Unless they do the leftists can re-imagine the Constitution however they please.

Has England had a decent soccer team since 1966?
(And Geoff Hurst’s second “goal” still hasn’t crossed the goal line)

Yep, now we're starting to understand. The whole idea of a law being challenged after it's a law is a flawed concept. One thing the founders got wrong. Also there's the fact that the judges can be total idealists with an appetite to effect change, that's the other problem.

Whatever happened to that lady judge charged by the feds for letting the illegal walk out the back door? Did she skate on that?

Newsom: ...”and we still have a long way to go.”

Which means he won’t stop until outright bans and gun confiscation is the policy. I feel bad for gun owners that live in that state. No amount of money could ever get me to live there.

commi[insert State name here]

Once in that club there is no "due process", the State has assumed "People of the State Govt".

commiCA
commiNY
commiWA

They figure that if the demoKrats can't do it in DC they'll do it from the State Gov chair. People need to wise up.

The theme of governance emanating from Sacramento.

The article also states that gun violence has dropped drastically in CA since the new laws went into effect. I call BS on that as they still haven't enacted a single law that would actually deter criminals from conducting business as usual. I saw a similar article a few days ago where they claimed that gun violence has dropped sharply in all states that have enacted new gun laws recently, while it has increased in gun-friendly states. It's not enough that the leftist news media will twist facts to make their case. Now they're actually making this stuff up.

Isn’t CA the place that has fires caused by power lines installed for tree huggers. Then the power lines start the fires. So they turn off the power instead of trimming the trees then the tree huggers who invaded the forest scream at the power folks. This CA train wreck is hauling more than stupid gun stuff. CA has diversified stupidity. Bless their hearts! Think I’ll do some 1911 shopping, shooting and/or cleaning this weekend.

it was only a generation ago that California still had a small measure of common sense. the only way to keep a corrupt government in control is to disarm the people.
