I'm still waiting for my Pro from Bud's and my two Pros from Springfield. I wish all you new Pro owners nothing but the best on your new purchases.

Bud's got mine at the 37 month mark. Unfortunately they got confused with California gun laws and thought they couldn't ship it to me so it went to someone else. As of today I'm told the snafu is resolved now and I'm next up.

I don't know if it has been discussed or not, however, I just learned the wholesale cost of the Professionals have increased (very recently) over $400.00. Just wondering if anyone else has heard this....

Bud's price went up $600 about 4-6 months ago and it's my understanding that does reflect a springfield price increase.

Yep, caught us (even dealers ) by surprise, was a rather steep increase.

After 200 rounds, she's finally starting to loosen up and I'm able to rack the slide better.
I have been breaking it in during USPSA league night and it has been a blast.
I would like to add an extended slide release to her so I have someplace to ride the left thumb during firing. Any suggestions on what company would make one that matches the Pro's finish? I will not put any old color on this beauty and ruin the look.
Thanks.

I put 600 through mine and I can do a press check now. I mailed Deb at the custom shop she said 600 would be fine for a breaking for CCW so I will continue to put rounds through her keep track and carry with confidence. not changing a thing on her she is real pretty! 3 year wait was worth it.So happy I bought one!

Nothing to add here but I'm going on 15 months now for my order of the Pro and LR model. I will honestly say 15 months went by pretty darn fast. All your pictures make me envious.

I was digging for info and found this article at the end it explains the barrel change
from Nowlin barrels to Springfield's barrels :

I've never red this so I'll pass it along .

All I'am going to say is make sure your price is locked in to the 2015
price when you ordered it .

And they are stuffing you with the extra price hike then.

Directly reported from Springfield, orders pre 2016 will honor the old price. Any new orders will be under the new pricing.

So Buds paid old pre'16 price and upped their msrp to 2016 $3000+

Interesting...is that written somewhere about the honoring the old price? I ordered 2 in 2014 and received my first one couple of months ago at the old price and my 2 one I just received at the new price. I have to look into this.

When I found out about the price increase I contacted springfield to find out what was happening to my orders pre '16. I was told if my order was in before the price hike then they would honor the old price.

This applies to all orders individuals and dealers, so when you are getting pros right now they were ordered some 20-30+ months ago, meaning springfield charged the old cost and if you paid the new msrp that indicates the dealer you went through paid old cost and charged you the new msrp. The dealer (not springfield) pockets the extra $500...

Ask yourself if that is the kind of business you want to support in the future.

And on another note:

My coworker just received a new pro LR Build date september 2016. The Black-t is a dryer duller feel to it when compared to my 2013 pro.

Has anyone else been able to compare the newer ones lately and noticed anything about the finish? Or heard of changes at Birdsong?

I placed the order as a dealer in 2014 so I will give them a call on Monday and see why I was hit with the new price. Thanks for the info!

SA has sent the wrong billing to some dealers with the new pricing and
not the old pricing . Its not " all " the dealers fault in some cases , the
wrong billing was sent to some dealers . The dealers just need to call
SA or their rep and the billing error will be fixed . I'am going through the
same issue with my 2014 order .

List Price 2014 PRO - 2549.00 / PRO w/rail 2699.00

I preordered from Buds, and called a few months later.
The lady said I was either #1, or 2, and I said cool. Called back a few months later, and was told that there was no list.
I have a feeling that Buds is skipping over my 2300.00 price, and selling the guns to the guys behind me that reserved for 2600-2900.
I also have a feeling they don't intend to ship me a pistol at all, and are just waiting for me to cancel.
If this is the case, it will be the last thing I buy from buds, but I am sure they could care less.

it is my understanding that although it's the same finish..black T, it varies from time to time...the older guns with the nowlin barrels had a "wetter" look...as the new ones are like you said more matte. I believe its some variances in the process at birdsongs.

I think Alchemy even created a finish very similar to the old black T...... It was called "black Tea" I believe.

I actually prefer the older wet look on the earlier guns personally, I had my 1999 refinished almost 2 years back but it currently wears the newer matte finish w new Trijicon sites.
