What's going on with the ball cuts?

It's been trending towards stopping short of dust cover. Now the ones above appear to terminate past the end of the dust cover

The LR I had, '11, ended perfectly as they should.

Slide might have been slightly out of battery when I snapped that pic. I'll check it when I get home.

Edit : yep, slide was not fully in battery. The ball cuts meet exactly where the rail starts.

All my 1911 .45 pistols including my TRP run best with long FMJ reloads. I make them at 1.50 using Montana Gold bullets. I think max is 1.60.

I called about 2 wks ago, and I guess they had some on vacation, some out sick, so had a reduced workforce, and contract guns to fill. I got a call in March saying they would need payment in April or May, and would call for it before shipping. Well, June rolled around and still no call, so I called them and that is what they told me. Should be looking at "Fall" sometime now (Oct-Dec).

On a nicer note, I just saw one on GB sell for $3300? (railed model in the 46XX serial# range), and a non-railed model for $3200.

Thanks guys. I've got a VM II for my ROC .45 and love it, just wasn't sure if they had anything for a railed Pro.

There's an older model Professional on GB now listed at $2500 with 17hrs left on the auction--no bids. Anything wrong with this that no one is bidding on it at this price? (I'm not connected to this seller/gun in any way).

Bids usually don't start really going until the auction is close to ending. Most of the time, anyway. No reason to bid this early.

I know the gun you're talking about.

No paperwork, 1 magazine, no case. New seller with 0 feedback.

I was interested to bid on that one. But when I see it was from a new seller without any feedback, I passed.

I think my non-railed Pro is going to make a trip back to Springfield. I haven't contacted them yet, but the thumb safety doesn't seem to be fit right. When disengaged, I can move the safety up practically freely for about a quarter of the way to engaged. It doesn't have that positive on/off. Once it's engaged, it's set pretty good. It's when it's disengaged that it gets the loose spot. I've just been too lazy to get in touch with Springfield to send it back.

Second vote for Garrett Industries. They are my off duty holster of choice. Silent Thunder Slim in the appendix position.

There is a SA pro on GB that appears to have a reverse crown barrel (http://www.gunbroker.com/item/569409538). Does the Pro come with a reverse crown? I did not think it did, and it looks quite strange because all of the reverse crown barrels that I have ever seen are flush with the bushing. I wonder if something happened to the barrel, and the owner took it to a smith to correct?
