Golden saber is the ammunition required at the time the FBI was testing the Professional. I'm sure you already know that the gun had to shoot 2 or more 10 shot groups @ 25 yards
<1.5" then shoot 20,000 rounds and again be able to shoot 10 rd groups with no more than 15% degradation in accuracy. And that all had to be done using golden saber rounds.
But as I just re read your post, I do not know if the used 185 or 230 gr ammo

I never owned a 1911 that didn't like Golden Sabers. The shape of the bullet/jacket makes for easy feeding.

It was and is the 230gr. version.

haven't shot the Pro in a while. Can you remind me what kind of hold it requires out of the box? Is it combat where you cover the bullseye with the front post?

I did not want to display serial #, figured CRG12X was close enough to show the early serial #. Wish it had a WC SS like some of them do out there but no biggie.

Does anyone have an idea on how often Buds gets these in? I am sure there are hundreds of people on the waiting list but I also assume that Buds would order in bulk.

Well then you owe it to yourself to take it out and shoot it again and get good with it!

Not sure if you guys caught the latest auction but this LNIB #225 early Pro fetched for $5126 on GB !
http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/Vie...Item=542621640

Now that's got to be the most expensive Pro yet.
