Heres a crazy question....

Anyone ever get 1911 grip screws at the local Ace hardware store ? Or are they net exclusive.

they have an unusual thread form, believe it's 0.150" - 50tpi .... not something you'd find in your average hardware store!

The Ace Hardware by me has a section specifically for gun screws. I have bought many different gun screws from them. I have not bought any grips screws there so I can't comment on that.

Every couple of months someone makes a similar post. Most want to avoid paying $6.00 shipping on $5.00 worth of screws. It's almost impossible to find screws or bushings for less than 4 for $5.00 + shipping. If you are willing to buy in quantity, you can find 25 of each for about $12.00. I'd bet if you would sell for $1.00 each and ship for $1.00 you could sell your excess in a year. Look on Ebay.

Just for fun I searched the WTB subforum and found 6 requests for grip screws in the past 5 months.
