I think that's an interesting question. The Professional is explicitly specified per a government contract. Obviously a ledge sight was not in the contract. I do wonder how long ledge sights have been on the market compared to when the Professional was commissioned.

The Colt CQBP does not have them either. Three dot sight pictures have been the norm for LEO and Mil for some time. Not that a ledge sight entails a different sight picture, but it is another example of things not changing with the times.

If anyone wants one now and doesn't mind paying more to skip the wait, Kentucky Gun co has a non-railed in stock right now for 2899.00.

Received an email from Deb from the custom shop and I'm officially on the waiting list for a non rail professional.

Should be mine around November 2017. 😭

Montana Barrel Company was bought out by Remington and moved to Alabama. They aren't the supplier.

I'm glad I have patience. If I wanted instant gratification I'd be all over that right now.
I got a substantial discount ordering direct from SACS with LE pricing. I think I can wait it out and save $605.

Call and see if they can do a layaway. At least put a deposit down and have it held for you.

Man I wish I could get the Leo pricing. It's a killer deal and I don't blame you for waiting. Plus it's a nice surprise when your gun is finally ready. Did you order the rail or non-railed?

I ordered one of each. lol $1200 savings. Might as well wait it out once versus twice.

Nice. That's the way to go. The money you spend on two is what some people have spent on 1! After Sandy hook when people were buying up everything I saw a few go for 3800-4k on gunbroker.

Yes kygunco does layaway. A couple months back there was a Professional with rail on there. I put a deposit down (I think it was 25% required) and paid it off. (they do a 90 day layaway).

Ill just started the california 10day wait on it.

It wasn't. Which is good, because I blew a bunch of money betting sports over the weekend. Actually, the NYG stole a bunch of money from me over the weekend, but that's a different conversation.

I suspect that the forgings for the slide and frame at least originally were made in Brazil. That may have changed in the past year or so after SA abandoned their Imbel connection.
