For now I am switching back and forth with my Lawman and my Trojan...

Soon as I get the funds, I will buy a 5.0 SS tactical....I was not going to spend that much money on a duty gun, but after seeing the list here...jeez, I think 2K is not bad compared to the folks who are carrying Wilsons and Nighthawks...

Ok so I've qualified with my full size Kimber SIS and now I can't decide on what duty holster to get. I had a blackhawk level 3 for my current setup, XD-9 or XD-45. I like it for its security but I rides pretty low. Wouldn't mind getting something that rides just a lil higher. Also I like the safariland system but don't really dig the rotating hood. Sense I am a deputy in our jail division I still wear a full uniform and can't get away with the leather belt scabbard I wear off duty. Can any of y'all post pics of your rig or recommend me a good duty holster? Thanks!

I use and recommend the Safariland 070 SSIII.

I don't care for the rotating hood on the Safarilands.

Andy thought about that. I have a buddy that got one of those for his colt. I'll take a look at it!

I have a new one in the bag, right hand that I am thinking about putting up for sell. It is basketweave. I use the nylon finished one.

Been carrying my Ruger SR1911 (Government) for over a year now.

The Ruger will soon be relegated to plainclothes duty or replaced with a Commander. I have a Colt Rail Gun on order which will take over after I do what work needs to done on the Colt and it has proven itself.

Funny...I have followed this thread for years and just realized today that I have not posted on it (DUH).
I work for a small rural county S.O. in South Central Montana. Glocks are the company gun, but if you purchase your own 1911, and shoot 100% in quals, you can carry 1911s (230 gr. Gold Dots are issue ammo).
For many years I have carried a late '70s, blue steel, Colt Combat Commander in a basketweave Safariland 70 SSIII (level 3 holsters are Dept. required ). Had to order the holster direct from Safariland and it took a month to get it.).
I like the Commander length for patrol and prisoner transports, because the shorter holster doesn't force the pistol butt into my side (I'm fairly thin) when I sit for long periods (silly, huh !!).
Never noticed the shorter sight radius to be an issue in qualifications. I might retire the old girl soon and get a newer version with night sights. My concession to both of our ages.....

Just picked up a Springfield Armory customized Milspec 1911 Govt model. It's a '94 gun, bit has had quite a bit custom work to it (By Action Works, Kings, & Tussey back when he was in Calif). It's now more like a hand made Loaded model. This will be my work gun now.

Hello everybody.
I am currently active dity Navy (Corpsman) but before I immigrated here in the US I did 8 years in SWAT and ATUs in the Philippine National Police. We were issued 9mm Berettas but we can "unofficially" carry our own choice of side arms. I seldom carried my Beretta because it failed on me twice, lucky me it was during some shooting competition in base.
Any how here's my moderately customized Norinco alonside my issue Beretta and my IMI Jericho Baby Eagle.

Some details on my Norinco Commander:

And finally my M4 clone

Is that Norinco threaded for the compensator or is it a bushing comp?

Snakeshooter, the comp is permanently attached to the barrel.

New to the forum (although I have looked at it from time to time to get tips for tuning my 1911s).
My primary is a Kimber TLE/RL II with a Wilson ambi safety, mag well, and flat recoil spring with GI length guide rod and ETM mags and TLR-1 tac light. I carry a Kimber Pro Carry SLE as a back-up/off duty.

You've led an interesting life. Have you served with Maines in the fleet?
I was just musing that HM's are the only sailors that Marines will fight FOR, rather than WITH.
Thanks for your service.
