New DW Vigil

I'm a little late posting this but I got my DW Vigil a couple weeks ago. I've got 600 rounds of the more inexpensive brass ammo through it and love it. I didn't follow the break in outlined in the manual to a T. I generally shoot 100-150 through it per session. I have found that as it gets dirtier it does not like mec-gar mags as well. It does much better with the factory mags and other check mate mags. The only occasional issue has been loading the first round in as it gets dirtier and this has mostly, if not exclusively, been with the mec-gars.
Accuracy from this gun is far better than I am. I don't shoot for bullseye accuracy. If I can hit my 8 inch steel at 10-20 yards I am happy enough. I love DA/SA Sigs but they can't hold a candle to the DW SA trigger.
Fit and finish are exactly what I expected from this gun. I love the grips that came in this gun, but I am tempted to find some similarly colored after market grips so I don't mess up the wood grips.
Overall I am very happy with this gun, but I fear that I am going to want to collect 1911s now like I collect Sigs. I guess there could be worse problems to have.

I've come around on my thinking on these.

Super carry features....lw frame, roundish butt, single ts and carry-friendly btgs.

Big fan of the rear ledge sight. Like the trigger and the flush cut barrel.

The stock grips are mighty sharp-looking, too.
Proud to be a Deplorable.....

Vigils are sweet and a great value. I was about to buy one but stumbled on a close out CCO for Vigil money instead. Would be perfectly happy with either.

Nice gun, congratulations!

My first Dan Wesson was a .45 Vigil Commander. I love it. I changed grips too. I chose Lok Grips Spec Ops style in gray and black. It's a very accurate gun and the Commander style carries very nicely. In my opinion the Vigil line is a great value for 1911's.

I’m waiting on my Valor to come in the mail as I write this. It was a tough choice between the Valor and Vigil. I only went with the Valor due it being a good deal.

I am more and more impressed with the Vigils every time I see one. I’ll have one eventually.

Congrats on an awesome 1911

Congratulations! My first Dan Wesson was a Government-size Vigil in .45acp. It is one of my EDC choices and absolutely a great shooter. Welcome to the Dan Wesson family!

Great choice, OP! With the alloy frame, and round butt, a full size Government just disappears for all day / all night carry!

Congrats on your new DW! My first DW was a CCO in .45. Followed it up with a 9mm Guardian. Maybe a Specialist next.
