Question for those who have a AR Pistol 5.56

Im going to be ordering a AR Pistol from Wilson Combat, but i dont know if i want a 8 or 11.3 Barrel. Im leaning towards the 8 because i already have a 14.7 AR from Wilson. I just was not sure how the performance is on the 8 compared to the 11.3. Also itll be in 5.56.

Boom! Flash! Wow! Where am I hitting?

Also low power. They are crazy fun but not very practical at all in that length. Better off with a blackout if you want an 8 inch.

I think I’m leaning towards the 11.3” with the law folding adaptor.

I love it.. Definitely hearing safe with no ear protection. It DOES get pretty darn hot with the suppressor....but totally worth the wait for both the SBR and suppressor stamps. Haven't shot it past 50 yds yet. Weather sucks every day I think of heading to the range.

I better tell that to the 600 yard targets I hit with my 11.3" 556, and 6.8 all the time...

Hitting a target vs actually doing damage at that range.
What's the velocity of a 55gr 5.56 at 600 yards from a 10.5" barrel?

Agreed. in 300 the 8" is fine. 5.56 is better in 11.3"

Anything under 10.5" starts to have issues. Not much dwell time so cycling can be a problem, but I am very sure that Wilson could get one to run just fine. But I wouldnt go shorter than the 11.3" personally.

I currently have a 11.5" SBR and really enjoy it. It suppresses ok as well. Even at that length its very tooth rattling without the can on.

Good luck!

Thanks for the info everyone. Got it ordered today. Did the 11.3” 5.56 Pistol. Did the 3gun trigger and law folding adaptor. Full length trim rail. One thing i just thought about they did ask about twist. My Recon Tactical is 1:7 twist so i hope it’s 1:7 or 1:8.

I forgot to ask. Has it still been realible? My 14.7 Recon Tactical has been flawless, but Ive always heard mixed reviews on AR pistols in general on being picky on ammo or having issues.

Got a Wilson ARP 300BLK. Runs great on supersonic. Like most 300BLK ARs though, if you run sub it needs a can.
