R1S quality time today

The weather cooperated just long enough today to get out and put some Winchester white box 185 gr fmj rounds through the R1S today. I haven't fired it nearly as much as the blued one, but I haven't had it as long either. The blued one will cycle my cast handloads (and everything else) just fine, but the R1S misfeeds the cast handloads every so often. I thought I'd try the factory 185s just to see how they compared and it ran them flawlessly. I was able to chrony them as well, and had an average velocity of 895 fps. I think the next try will be with the 230 gr plated and see how that goes. I adjusted the sights a little afterwards because it was hitting about 2-3" to the left from the 25 yd line. I'm looking forward to replacing the grips with some Hogue grips as soon as possible as well. For some reason, it seems they put wood looking plastic grips on the R1S, while the regular R1 has actual wood grips. And they both came from Ilion

Thanks for the report.

Bought my standard R1 6 months ago and have yet to get out to the family property to shoot it (along with 4 other new handguns purchased this year).

Shame on me for slackin', but it's good to hear the WWB ran well. I have about 6 or 10 boxes of that stuff that's just getting old (like me).
