Being I worked in the oil industry for 42 years I thought
I would treat myself to a Henry Rifle and of course I chose
the Oil Man in .44mag. Just arrived today with my Dan Wesson Specialist .45

So here is the obligatory photo.

Very nice! I keep hinting now and then to the family I would like one of the Henry rimfires with the military service receiver covers with my years of service. They just don't listen.

It is Texas Independence day. I should buy a gun to celebrate.

I believe it is.
The specialty part is all the engraving on the side panels in regard
to the oil industry of the early days. Oil Derricks, Pumps, Rough Necks, etc.
Similar to the other theme guns in various calibers by Henry.
As a kid I grew up watching The Rifle Man, Colt .45, Gunsmoke, Palladin, Roy Rogers, The Lone Ranger and all the many others.
I always wanted to get a Lever Action and as soon as the snow melts up here a little I will get down to my range and shoot it.
Don't feel like putting on snowshoes to get to my little range. Expecting more snow this coming week.
Well it is only March up here :)
Edit: 3/9/17 Geez, got 3" of snow this morning and expecting even more next Tuesday and Wednesday. Spring ain't sprung here :)

Just got my Sling and Bandolier setup on the Henry OM.
Sling fit perfectly and the Bandolier, well it just looks so cool.
I haven't shot it yet. After 30" of now this week I didn't feel like snow shoeing down to my range :)

cheesey wok shop table pic of rifle with sling.
