Can I ask if it came with a black or nickel plate ACT mag? I just ordered one and it will be soon be headed this way to my local SoCal FFL! Was hoping to get a jump on getting other mags myself.

That is a really beautiful 1911 you got there.

Saw an interview about that gun at Shot Show 2020, Martin Tauson (forgive my spelling) was being interviewed for a You Tube video and he was asked about the 51414.

He said this model had been dropped from the lineup quite some time ago.
Then last year they were reviewing their California Approved Weapons Roster, saw that it was still approved and decided to reintroduce it.

If I still lived in CA I'd be all over it, as it is I still keep watching prices. If it were available in 10MM I'd have one already.

Congrats, be sure you come back with beauty shots and a range report.

Thanks, I like it I can't wait to get it out of Jail I looked at it a Springfield and a Kimber which cost hundreds more and for that price range you get more Bang for your buck. As you know without a large selection in California it's very limited, I will look for that youTube video.

Welcome to the forum.

Since you're new, you may not have seen our "Best 1911 Mag" sticky thread. It may be helpful, or it may add to your confusion, but it is a data point.

I have a similar but different model than yours but I doubt it matters: Mine came with one black magazine. I believe it to be an ACT but I wouldn't swear to it. The gun ran fine with it. When I used some higher end mags --Tripp Research and Wilson-- the slide starting locking back prematurely. I replaced the slide stop with one from Cylinder and Slide and now the gun runs like a Singer sewing machine. I love the gun.

This is the same reason why I purchased it! Iím really looking forward to getting it... hopefully before they shut down everything. The information on this virus junk changes everyday. My wife is a teacher and the schools were shut down last Monday here in our area.

I just heard that the governor just gave the official ďstay at homeĒ executive order with exceptions of getting food and medicine only. I have no idea what will happen since my order is in transit to my FFL.
BTW for anyone wondering, this was a purchase I had been working on getting for some time... not a C-virus purchase in any way... Weíre all good in the area of personal protection. The Missus and I have always tried to live as prepared as possible for any any and all eventualities. It just so happens that this showed up about the time I found it at a good price!

Good deal! I do hope it works out well for you! After a bit of research I found that what he said amounts to a strongly worded suggestion at this point.... meaning ďdonít make me declare Marshal Law.Ē Be safe and may it all work out for both of us.

I stand corrected regarding what I said about believing my gun came with an ACT mag. It is definitely an ACT mag. It says so in big letters; don't know how I missed it.

Excellent! I picked my up just a few days later! Iím VERY pleased with this firearm. It looks great... even better in person! I ordered a second matching black Act mag from Advanced Tactical and then ordered 4 new shiny nickel Act mags from Greg Cote LLC. They all work great!
On a side note... even though I have used KimPro stainless steel 7 rd mags for years in my Compact size MilSpec RIA, I found out the hard way that the KimPro 8rd mags for Full size 1911ís will NOT function in my new stainless Full size Rock Tactical! I had to return a couple of them because you could not insert them fully loaded. If you locked the slide back you could, but you could not rack the slide and then top off the mag and re-insert the mag giving you the 8+1 in the chamber as the pistol was designed to do. My compact works perfectly with the 7+1 KimPro mags that I bought about 5 years ago, so I didnít anticipate the issue at all. Anyways, the ACT mags are great so allís well that ends well. Live and learn!

In fairness, the full size 1911 was designed as a 7+1 gun.

Iím aware... but this RIA and many 1911ís today are sold as a 8+1 and thatís what I wanted when I bought it.
