This is my baby. Bit me 4 times after getting him from a trainer. He is very smart. Someone raised their hand/arm toward me quickly while the dog was sitting next to me. Red went to take his arm off; but, saw my hand/arm coming up are realized there was no threat. He turned his head to avoid the bite. Neither of us saw him move and didn't realize he had until you hear the mouth snap shut and saw him resuming the sit position.

The wife and I have two rescue Pitbulls---these are some of the smartest, most loyal dogs I have seen---a first line in a layered defense of the home---I am not saying that they are attack dogs, because they are not---but they put up a fine show! We live in a nice area, but a couple miles south of us is not so nice---so the shiitbirds come up north cause we got better stuff! A completely fenced-in yard that comes up to the front of the house and metal security coverings up front make us a harder target---add in our dogs and we don't suffer the break-ins that so many do...

My father in law just spent $1,200 recently on one. He hates it. Lol

Long story, but this guy is just an idiot. I get the feeling this puppy might be joining my German Shepherd some time

Here's my Amigo about six years ago. He's a Sheltie who thinks he's a Collie and kept growing. About 40 lbs now. Great to leave him with my wife when I work evenings. Alerts her to anything going on. He's also helped us get in shape because he needs a walk every day.

I'm thinking my next dog may be a shepherd. I love this picture - sorry I did post it awhile back - he is the best supervisor

Rocky was 13 weeks when I posted here last time. He's just over 7 months now. And they're still inseparable.

In South Africa (and elsewhere), it's common for criminals to kill dogs by throwing poisoned meat over the fence - so a friend of mine passed along one method to help prevent this:

Cover a chunk of meat in salt and give that to any visitor to give to the dog - after a while, the dog won't touch anything not given directly to it by the owner.

It happened to a friend of mine. Some goons apparently thought that my friend was a dope dealer that they wanted to take down. That is what the cops said anyways.

I dated a gal for a long while that had a Rottie. Absolute little doll baby and loved playing with her boys. They had a 4" thick rope they played tug of war with. More 'drag them around the yard' war.

She had a decorative area in the back yard filled with river rocks about the size of plumbs. Every once in a while that dog would pick one up and CRACK... break it right in half.

I love these dog threads.

Ari has been working with me for 5 years now, and has saved my bacon several times. He's got a few human life saves under his belt:

Vixen is the smartest dog I've ever seen, and our family pet. She's dual certified (patrol and narcotics) but has never worked the streets:

And lastly is Thor. He was a sweetheart that worked the street for two agencies before coming to me. Too gentle a soul to have done police work. I miss him dearly:

I can see you, like some of my colleagues, are a "Malle" person. Nice looking dogs, especially your present "colleague".
