Cleaning Kit

I have just started putting together a bug out bag and thought of something I haven't seen mentioned.

Anyone include a small cleaning kit for their weapons?

I was thinking during a longer period out, weather conditions, possible malfunctions, etc - that a rod, couple of tools, brush, clip lube

Am I a genius for thinking about this - or - Forrest Gump ("you stupid or something") because everyone already has a kit done?

Steve

Yep. I have a kit that fits in a standard GI first aid kit pouch (except for the cleaning rod). It carries not only basic cleaning supplies but also a few spare parts.

This kit started as a basic M16 kit, over time tools got added and extra rod lengths for my longer rifles, and eventually became a basic maintnance survival kit. I usually carry a rag, strikehold and bore snakes for what ever I am shooting but any time I grab a gun to go shooting, this kit goes too! A few times it has saved the shooting session or hunting trip from ending early
