My RIA Rock Ultra FS 9mm(aka Tactical II), I removed the magwell, installed a 10-8 flat trigger, green fiberoptic front sight tube, Wilson flatwire recoil spring, guide rod, and recoi spring plug. I also did a trigger job on it, stoned the rails the trigger slides on, and the hammer channel. This is my first RIA and first 9mm 1911, I had an issue with the mags not dropping free, they were rubbing on the trigger bow. I installed the 10-8 and now they drop free. When I first installed the Wilson flatwire recoil spring and rod, I used the buffer they include, this caused issues with the 1911 not wanting to lock the slide back, and I couldnt chamber a round with the slide locked back, unless I used the slide stop (couldnt pull the slide back far enough). I figure the buffer isnt letting the slide move far enough so I removed it, and its been 100% since. I am extremely happy with this 1911, for the price I dont think it gets much better, out of the box I punched out the bull's-eye on a 4" target at 15 feet.

Looks a lot like mine

You should try the Pearce Grip inserts - they feel great, and fit nicely with the MagPul grips

Here's my Rock Island Tactical reverse two tone. Now that it's back from the factory for the third time it appears to be fixed and working like a champ.. Right now it's just stock but I plan on putting some very naught Bette Paige or Devil Girl grey grips on the thing and make it my "gaudy" 1911 if you know what I mean. Just have fun with it.

Made some changes to my RIA Tac II 9mm, added Fusion Firearms Chainlink MSH, Sear, Stainless Hammer and Strut, and Disconnector. I also installed a Stainless Barrel Bushimg I had laying around, and a Remington Ambi Saftey I found cheap. I am going to add a Stainless Recoil Plug, get it Cerakoated, and have the all the polished Stainless parts bead blasted. Pic sucks, once I am all done I will I will post a better one

Agreed im not a fan of a shiny pistol for defense. I prefer one dark in color that is hard to see while in hand.

One of my many Rock Islands. This one has a lot of work done. Crowned Barrel, New trigger and trigger job. Midnight bronze and black cerakote, GI guide rod and a brass spike plug. Solid brass Spartan Grips.

Anybody have pics and a thought on the RIA Citadel 9mm compact?
I've heard of it and want more info to be able to consider a smaller to conceal gun than my "Double stack 1911A2MS"

Very nice, how do you like those grips. I have seen a few variations of them, they look good, but are they comfortable?

They feel comfortable when you are just holding it but not while you are shooting, They are more for looks then range use.

My Dad has the compact Citadel 9mm and it shoots like a dream. I am becoming a bigger and bigger fan of the 9mm in the 1911's.

We found it on sale at Academy Sports for $329+tax and could not pass it up. You get a lot of features for the money in Rock Islands and thats especially true in their Citadel line of 1911's

I picked up my TAC II in 9mm just because. 45 is getting expensive and everything else I have is 9mm, but I totally agree, it quickly became my favorite handgun.
