Same thing I always run out of. Time. Time to work on guns, to melt lead, to cast boolits, to reload, to get to the range. I work out of town/away from home so I have no time.

It would be 50 BMG for me. I haven’t bought any new stock in more than a decade, only have a few thousand loaded up but with only one bolt action 50, that’s going to last a long time.

Heck, I still have primers from before Clinton signed the AWB in ‘94. Can make my own cast and coated bullets with nothing but time and electricity for at least ~40,000 more rounds and I’ll need some more hi-tek.

Haven't done any reloading or much shooting since mid 2017 (life & family issues got in the way). But I did keep the habit of buying a box or 2 of primers or some powder each month. Toss in a few orders for bullets & I think I'm in pretty good shape. I'm not worried about any panic buying.

I'm good on rifle projectiles except for my one 6.5 and I just ordered enough of them to get me through several hunting seasons.

I'm pretty good on powders and primers too though a couple of thousand more might not hurt but I just don't do that much rifle. Not too many pistol bullets but I've got moulds for everything I would really need and lots of lead.

Bunch of percussion caps too this time!

Prrrrretty, prrrrretty prrrrretty good. I'm a sucker for a winter sale!
Will need more .30 caliber match rifle bullets and maybe 180 40S&W coated practice bullets before summer, but good on most everything else.

X-treme came through.
1000 9mm 124 rn

The order was placed on the 16th, well before places were getting shut down.
But I was concerned that the shipment wouldn't get out or would get hung
up in transit.

My 2200 SWCs from Bayou Bullets finally arrived after taking a spin around the Midwest.

The mailman dropped them off at the front door and my wife tried to say thank you but he just ignored her. Must not be a gun guy.

Just started getting back into reloading less than a year ago. It's been a slow process as I've had to start from scratch. A pair of progressives, ancillary gear, bench materials and finally.....at the end, started buying reloading components for 9mm, 45acp, 10mm, 44mag, .30'06, .45/70 and future consideration of .38Super & .38special/.357mag.

I wish I knew then what I know now.....as I'm sure we all would.....I'd have spent the money on components first....lots of them....and then bought the presses.

As it was, one of the presses had a long delay in shipping.....had I waited and ordered it last, I'd have not had the wait time and cold have spent the money on powder....that was on sale....and had low/no hazmat fee, etc, etc, If's. Woulda's. Shoulda's.

As it is, I've got a local guy who I hope will be back in town next Monday. If he's still well supplied I hope to buy a couple 8lb jugs of Unique and all the spp & lpp that I can afford.

I've got a few pounds each: TiteGroup, BlueDot, HS-6, IMR4064, Clays, H110 and Sport Pistol. Also have a few thousand coated lead bullets & some hunting bullets (XTP, SST & ProHunter). Some quality virgin brass for .44mag, 10mm, .30'06 & .45/70. 4,000 each on used brass for 9mm & .45acp. Primers........ I need to get a count on, but I'm fairly certain they will be gone before my bullets are.

I have a couple thousand .223/5.56 target rounds to enjoy on the range. I wasn't planning on reloading for it right away....but obviously will be saving brass and keeping my eyes open on components for it, too. I'd love to have a press to set up for it .223/5.56 and leave it alone. A buddy and I were talking the other day and agreed....we'd both be making orders with Dillon soon after the election if President Trump is re-elected. Fingers crossed.

I never thought I would thank the legislators in California for anything however when they passed their stupid law requiring background check to buy ammo and left open loading components I went in that direction. It's not that I would have a problem passing a background I just refuse to comply anymore with all their asinine laws. So I'm in good shape. As far as ammo boxes go, check out Harbor Freight. They have plastic ammo containers that look like military ammo cans. I load and store in them and then transfer to smaller boxes when I head to the range. I think they are always on sale for $3.99 and hold 500 .45 acp. easily.

I've been reconsidering my .300 BO projectile situation. I have about 900 subsonic projectiles, but only about 200 or so 150gr. I'm thinking now is the time (or too late) to start loading up lighter rounds...like 110gr to 120gr, just to get more fun for the same dollar.
I had just ordered additional 115gr JHP 9mm and 165gr JHP 40 S&W, which are currently enroute. I guess if I had a range to go to that was open I'd be more concerned.
Powder I'm well equipped for anything I could potentially load.
I'm waiting on shipping of about 3K SPP and 6K SRMP...praying that I don't get the..gee, we're sorry but we can't find it in the warehouse. I don't need them right now...but I want them.

I've got over 20,000 small pistol primers and about 15 pounds of powder between 231 and Titegroup. I'm down to about 3000 bullets. I had better buy some bullets next month, probably at least 8,000 or so.

I've been stocked up on both ammo and reloading gear since the Obama years. Did not want to be caught flat footed like that time.

Primers are always an issue. Never think I have enough. But probably plenty to see me though the current issues.

Sounds to me like some of you guys have more loaded ammo than you will shoot in the next 5 years. I do also, and still loading. I've gotten where I like to load about as much as I like to shoot, weird. I need to burn some ammo this summer.

Everyone needs to keep the timeline in mind.
Now is the time to use the stuff you have rat holed that you got for cheap.
If you didnít have anything put back, thatís your bad.
Donít go out and waste money on stuff that has the price jacked up. This is a blip in demand that will last a few months at most. The virus will be minimized and the supply will recover.
Itís not like an 8 year Obozo threat where you just never knew what was going to happen next. Itís a damn good reminder to be prepared. Might even make a few folks think about loading their own. Shelves are currently empty!

Shhhh...

reloading is difficult and expensive, not to mention time consuming. It's way easier to just buy premium JHP for range use in a shortage.

If commieobammy didn't get you started building a reserve then nothing will.

That said, there is NEVER enough ammo, at least that is my mantra!

For me to feel even remotely comfortable I need enough loaded ammo to keep me shooting for a year. I need enough powder and primer to reload all of that brass I shoot at least twice.

I don't put loaded ammo into plastic boxes, it all goes into .30 and .50 usgi cans. Brass goes into 5 gallon buckets.

I am fortunate to have a range in my backyard. The only thing that keeps me from shooting every day is the winter weather. But spring, summer and fall the lead flies every day here.

That is why there is NEVER enough ammo, brass, powder, primers and lead to cast with.

I would be dumb to ever let my supply get short enough to keep me from shooting when I have a range in the backyard.
