California Question

I won an auction on GB (which I believe is in CA) and the dealer is in CA. Iíve not been able to get a response from either GB or the dealer by phone or email. Is the virus situation causing businesses not to open in the state and thus the lack of response? That is my guess, but perhaps some of our forum members from the west coast can confirm my suspicion. Thanks and God bless.

I think other forums have said that gun stores were considered "non-essential" and part of the mandatory closures.

Most folks are staying home, per the "order" from the G'uvnor.

The order just making official what we were mostly doing anyhow.

So yeah, that shop is probably going to be empty for the duration, however long that is.

That said, my personal feelings are that the shop owner / management should be monitoring their business remotely. At least enough to converse with existing clients such as yourself.

Not just shrugging and going home to watch the flintstones.

Gun stores are nonessential if you already have armed security. Maybe they could include a roll of toilet paper with each purchase to qualify as essential.

Yes, it is likely the Wuhan Flu. The entire freaking state is on lockdown. Gun stores have been deemed "non essential." Mind you, pot dispensaries are ESSENTIAL and can stay open but something that is related specifically to a constitutional right is NOT essential. You can't make this shhhh...err...crap up.

There are some gun stores defying the order...and God Bless them...but I have no idea on the status of yours OP. I'd say just be patient as this may take awhile.

Seriously? My gun store (here in California) was swamped over the weekend. The door was locked and they were escorting people in when others came out. Shelves were almost bare and 1st time buyers upset that they were limited to the roster & had to wait for 10 days! to pick up their new gun.

It varies from county to county and city to city, I've heard some cities are enforcing closures, central coast where I'm at is mostly active but limiting # of people in store and some have had their inventory bought out. If it was lock, stock and barrel, they may be in hard closure area, they are probably still there just can't open doors, they are great folks. Mark

If the L.I.A. in your county is accepting paperwork try a pawn shop most counties considered them an essential business. Who knows maybe you'll find something you can't live without.

Here in Missouri they are considered essential thanks to our Nullification Law which does not recognize any Federal Law that infringes on our 2A rights.

I Kalifornia man, the marijuana shops are essential man. As long as they can get that and toilet paper man, everything is kewl man. Yeah man, it's all good man.

WA state is the same way. Shops selling weed are deemed essential. Gun stores are not. You know you're living in a leftist-controlled state when you hear stuff like this.

Avoid the temptation to replace everything on your brand-new 1911 just to make it "better". Know what you're changing out and why. You may spend a lot of money fixing things that weren't broken to begin with. Shoot at least 500 rounds through it first, then decide what you don't like and want to improve. Regarding vintage 1911s, pre-1970 pistols are highly collectible in original, unaltered condition and should NEVER be refinished or modified as it completely ruins their monetary value.

The NRA should be in court suing them for immediate opening of gun stores
