I know this about leather, but Black Guns Matter! I have two!

Seriously though, I had always had black holsters too. I just thought they'd blend in better with my black belts. As of recently though, I have two holsters in black and another in mahogany, all with matching mag pouches. I also bought a mahogany belt.

Agreed. I love the way tan gear looks, but it shows badly against dark jeans and a dark cover garment. Black hides much better, IMO. But after 26 years on the job, I totally get the desire to do something different.

OMG, how did you survive this long? No weapon-mounted light or red dot sight on an ancient hammer-fired steel-framed dinosaur of a pistol???? Clearly you're not one of the newer generation of 'cool kids'.

Unlike the OP, I have not been forced to wear black gear for years and years on end, so I still like it. I do, however, also enjoy natural tan, cordovan, etc. and think all of them (including black) look great with shark or elephant trim. For OWB, I stick to all black gear just in case it gets seen a bit. For IWB, doesnít really matter as much and really the color/trim combo is mainly for my enjoyment. I generally like to keep the loops all black, though.

When it comes to guns, I tend to lean towards all black, so I am trying to remedy that. I know this thread is about leather, but Iíve currently got an Alchemy 9mm on order in full hard chrome to give something like that a try!

Here are some leather products I enjoy:

Very recently sold this one

Thanks! There are a couple pictured that I no longer own. I've got a serious leather and 1911 addiction though, so what's pictured is sure to grow and fluctuate a bit over time.

The pics are simply from an iPhone, now an iPhone 11, which takes incredible pictures. Combine that with a bit of simple editing and boom! You've got yourself some decent photos.

Sometimes at night when I can't sleep, I wrap my black holster and my black magazine carrier into my back belt and put them under my pillow. Works like a charm.

I just ordered a Milt Sparks Criterion in Cordovan but have a 55BN in black. I thought about it and called back and ordered black instead because I have a black belt from Beltman. Maybe when I retire, I won't wear a lab coat anymore.

Sure can’t go wrong with a 55BN, no matter the color!

Big fan of leather regardless of color. The one exception is Kydex, but itís tan leather lined (Garrett Industries). Probably need a brown belt now.

It took me three pages to figure out this thread wasn't about holsters. Congratulations on your retirement. Oh and there's always black cherry.
