Wondering ... Is 38 Super an option? Colt makes a classic in 38S.

I highly recommend it!
I did replace the short trigger with a long Harrison solid extreme Service trigger.

I sent my Colt O1911C Classic to Nighthawk this morning for this treatment.
Waiting to hear back on a timeline for completion.
STOKED!

Hey Nighthawk rep....I heard one was sent back because the ejector was not fitting. I know they are new but any other issues? Damn good looking weapon...

While one shouldn’t expect sub MOA groups the pistol will be much more accurate than it previously would have been. The cleaner crown that these barrels get will also help improve accuracy.

That's very helpful! Thanks much.

Silly query of the day but doesn’t NH’s price include the weapon itself or must you provide it?

Yes, but I already have the Colt Classic, and they will perform the same treatment on a customer’s gun.

For NH's price they include the pistol. If you want to delete or add anything to the package I believe you have to supply the pistol.

I inquired about one without NH markings and was given a price for me supplying the pistol.

I like them a lot but it seems like kind of an expensive way to buy a Colt.

Looks like a good idea. Especially after FN shot down their HiPower upgrade.

No slide / frame fit is a deal killer for me on a customer supplied Colt for $2600.
There are better options out there for the money, like the Alchemy Prime. JMHO.

Agreed, that rattle thing aint for me.

Now if I were buying a collector piece that would be different.

The $2600 is the price for a NH supplied pistol. Obviously less if you supply your pistol.
I also image NH would perform a slide/frame fit for a add’l fee.

Does the new Colt Classic actually rattle? Is that why it is called a "classic" ?
Is the slide to frame fit on one so bad that Nighthawk in their description felt the need to even mention it?
While I like the looks of the pistol and I love my Nighthawk, for a Colt 1911 in that price range, I agree with the poster, who suggested the ACW Prime. Then you would have a real "classic".

The Colt O1911C Classic I sent has a very nice F/S fit. No rattles. In fact I have purchased several Colt 1911s over the past 10 years and none have F/S rattle.
Must be an old complaint that lingers, just like the Series 80 trigger BS.

I am highly considering getting one. Slide tightness is a marketing term. A fitted barrel and bushing are what you need. If I get this one it will be my first nighthawk. I have had custom work done by evolution armory before on a colt delta where he flat out told me there was no benefit to tightening the frame to slide fit. He fit the barrel and put on a fitted bushing and that thing shoots just as accurate as my evo or guncrafter with tight slides.
