Colt Concealed Carry Government ?

Found a Colt Concealed Carry Government for sale for $1,000. It supposedly has 400 rounds through it. However some parts have been swapped out. It has a Harrison medium length trigger, the Series 80 firing pin safety removed and the sear “lightly” polished. The original parts come with it.

The seller states that it is one of 1,400 produced with it being in the 1,300 range. The photos look very good with no apparent wear to the finish.

Is the value there? As far as I can determine it is not anything special, so I might be as well off buying a new Colt Classic.

School me on the Colt CCG.

Thanks and God bless

I have one. Paid around $1175 plus tax for it from a LGS when it was still in production. It comes with a Colt NM barrel, Novak plain rear sight, fiber optic front sight, beaver tail grip safety, and thin wood grips. I liked the lack of front cocking serrations when all Colt enhanced pistols had them. Only thing I changed was the grips to a standard width G10 and a TLR6 for nightstand duty. Put it up for sale for $950 but no takers so I decided to keep it.

Low production Colts, with unusual rollmarks eventually have some value - if ALL Original, with box and papers. There is always a Collector who has to have "One of Everything" who will pay a premium. I would not carry it if I was considering it for investment value. One non-fixable ding and it's just a used Colt 1911... CC

I passed on one at a local pawn shop. It was used but clean. Had some ugly aluminum grips on it. No box or paperwork. $589.00+tax. I probably should have picked it up.
