Bob Marvel did a fine job on my Hi Power but I understand that he is doing a bunch of training at Nighthawk lately.

I heard he was working on his line of comic books.
Your sources might be better than mine...

I would add Kent Singletary to that list. Relatively low key but definitely does excellent work.

Kent Singletary is in Glendale, AZ, not too far from Phoenix.

Oops, he's been mentioned at least twice already.

The best is right in your back yard.....Ted Yost! I have a SRT P-35 built by Ted and it is as good as it gets. Highly recommend giving him a call and getting on his list.

My Mark III will be back from Kent Singletary soon, maybe in a week or so. I am SO stoked I can't hardly stand it! Here is a teaser until I get her in hand!

IMHO when you are looking to have work done on your BHP you need to talk to the smith that is doing the work. Talk to them about what you want done. Talk to them about the work they have done. Talk to them about the BHP platform. If you know what you are looking for and know about the BHP the smith will tell you if he is capable of doing the work you want.

Just because there are big nationally known names that work on BHPs does not mean you cannot get good work from a local unknown smith. Do your homework and you will be ok.

If you are in the Vegas area check out Wild West Guns. I know that Jim West is most likely not the smith doing the work there but he runs a good shop.

They did my very first custom BHP out of their Alaska shop.

Tell me more about your MK3 Firearms BHP!

After seeing a modified/beautified FM Detective Slide they did (for sale by the owner for $700 on E-Bay) I'm considering sending a spare '80s FN slide to them for a Detective cut down. My dream is an all FN Detective pistol that takes the FM barrel, guide rod and recoil spring.

I already have an FM Detective Slide for my Alloy frame BHP, but it doesn't fit BHP holsters properly. Love it except for the holster issue... and to get the trigger to reset reliably, the trigger lever had to be shortened, causing an occasional double fire problem with the original FN slide. The original slide is now mothballed.

Thanks,
