Hi Power Gold Classic

Anyone have an idea of the real value of the above? Complete with wooden presentation case? s/s 245GC___. In great condition. Is this model more of a collectors piece and should just be a safe queen?

Thanks!!!

I wouldn't be taking that to the range...

Somewhere is somebody who would probably pay you a whole bunch of money that you could then give to Don Williams to build you the HP of your dreams for carry or whatever else.

As you must know...the '..Gold Classic..' was a special, limited-production run of 500, individually-numbered pistols...and obviously intended as a '..collector's piece..'. I'd be shocked and amazed to learn that more than 1,000 rounds had been fired from the entire lot...and these at the Herstal proof shop.

These collector's pieces come up for sale occasionally...in a wide range of asking prices from $3,500-to-$5,000...though the few I've seen actually sold over the past few years have tended to go more in the $3,500-$4,000 range.

Thanks for the comments. I thought is was too good to be true when the guy offered for $1300. Problem he is on the other side of the state. Something like this one, you have to "feel and touch" to make sure it is real!!!!

My friend had a set that came from Browning, I have never seen another one like it, as it had this pistol, a A-5 like you have never seen and a lever action .22. They were all done like the Gold Classic but I have never seen that combination, and yes, the serial numbers all matched.

If anyone has information on something liek this, I would greatly appreciate it.

Do a search on armslist covering all states. You might just find the same gun and same picture(s) in ads in several states.

Much like the Colt Ace national Parks special edition for sale for 450 and $500 in Colorado and California !!

If you go for it, make sure to meet in a busy public place, where trade goods can be discretely looked at. Mall food court etc. Might also check a hot-list for the SN first.
Sure is pretty work. Do people wear Hi Powers to BBQs ?

When I sell a gun I always ask the buyer to meet me at my local police station parking lot. It is under 24 hour video surveillance. So far nobody has wanted to meet elsewhere.

Just read a local news report that our local police department had created a special, well-lit area on their parking lot, with full CCTV coverage for just such a purpose. According to the press report, similar practices were slowly being adopted by individual police departments nation-wide. Evidently our local police department had had this idea under review for over a year before adopting it. The primary reason for the delay in adoption were possible '..liability..' issues for the department and municipality.

Our chief never said anything about liability issues. I was in the parking lot one time selling a gun when he pulled in and spoke to me by first name. It put the buyer at ease for sure.

Happened to me once when I was selling a customized firearm on Gunbroker. A customer in Nevada saw the auction and then saw the same exact photos in an online classified ad in Las Vegas, NV. The customer contacted me through Gunbroker since there was a big difference in price wanting the lowest price. Both of us contacted the authorities in Las Vegas.

>>>...meet in a busy public place, where trade goods can be discretely looked at. Mall food court etc...<<<

Do this in a shopping mall food court and you're likely to have a passing shopper get a glimpse of it and dial 911 to report a '..terrorist attack..' at Orange Julius....and shortly after the local SWAT unit examining the pistol....while you're cheek-down on the a sticky floor being cuffed.
