Email access

How does someone with no posts but is a "member" access my contact info? I'm just curios. I thought new members had to be ok'ed before being able to post or search for members.

A new member's first post goes into a moderation queue until it can be "approved" by an Administrator or Moderator. I don't know if having an "approved" post is a requirement for being allowed to search for members or send PM's to members.

Hopefully, a staff member who knows the answer will respond to this.

If a members post is in moderation, it doesnt count towards their count.

Who's the member, what info did they access (email or sent a pm?) and what was the nature of the contact?

ZIF - go into your "USER CP" from the top bar on the forum, then scroll to "EDIT OPTIONS" on the left of the screen and click on it, scroll down on that page to "MESSAGING & NOTIFICATIONS", and look at the box for "RECEIVE EMAIL FROM OTHER MEMBERS" to see if it is checked. If it is checked, any registered member can see your email address in your user profile when they click on your user-id in the contact info box. If you unclick that box and scroll down to the bottom and click on save changes, you can then click on your user-id and see that the option for other members to send you an email is gone and it does not show your email address to anyone looking at your profile.

If you click on your user-id before making this change, and click on the "Contact Info" tab, I am willing to bet your email address shows up with an option for members to send you an email.

At least this is the way it is working on mine. Try that and let us know the result.

He sent you an email to your gmail or he sent you a PM on site?

Do you have your email address posted anywhere on the site?

JB - See post #5 and 6 above. It is actually user-controlled in the User CP section.
