I traded into a nice 9mm EMP4 back last fall and it has been flawless. It does shoot high, requiring an exaggerated 6 o’clock hold, but groups nicely. I put about a 1k rounds through it at a firearm instructor course, but I found myself wanting a more traditional 9mm commander like the Range Officer Champion. The two tone of the EMP does not bother me and I basically want the RO Champion for the grip familiarity that I have grown accustomed. Realistically, I will have to re-home the EMP to own the RO Champion.

Any reason why I should avoid the RO Champion and keep the EMP?

Any happy 9mm Range Officer Champion owners?

I'm in the same boat. I have the 3" EMP and enjoy shooting it. I recently picked up a EMP4 contour and even with a grip change I just don't find myself liking it. A RO commander just came up for sale and hopefully I'll be buying it today. After I get it out of jail ( I live in CA.) I'll let you know how it runs.

I have an RO Champion in 9mm. I love it. My wife took it over. I had the slide milled for a Burris FF III. It did need some work when it was new. Link and pin issues that I fixed my self. Great gun! It has no purpose, but I have used it to shoot steel bowling pins. I carry it occasionally with CT laser grips for a back up sight.
Mostly my wife shoots it.

Funny, I have a RO Champion which I love, but want an EMP4 someday when I want something a little lighter to carry. We have an EMP3 which we bought for my wife about 10 years ago and it is an incredible gun. We take multiple friends to the range and the EMP is always what they end up shooting and loving the most.
