New to 1911 and Guns in General! NoVA / DC Area

My friends all go to the range for fun after work and I thought I should start joining them. Picked out a nice used Colt M45A1 for a great price. I've posted in the USMC CQB sticky in the Colt subforum as well with photos - if a mod could manually approve that post?

Excited to be here!

Remember your 4-rules of gun safety.

Also learn proper stance, grip, and sight picture (among other things).

A 1911 is tons of fun to shoot.

All my 1911s are in .45acp. Why? Because no one makes one in .46cal.--Me

Anything with a FLGR is fluff, if JMB didn't put it on the 1911 you don't need it.
If you are going to collect, don't be 'drawn' to an example that is neither original nor correct; instant gratification is always more expensive than a good education.
