Question about SW1911 sights.

Hello every one, my dad and I are thinking about getting an SW1911, but we don't know whether we should get the model with fully adjustable sights or the one with Novak Lo Mount sights. The Novak model is in stock at the local gun shop. Our main concern is sighting the gun in, and having to adjust the sight for different ammo. Is the Novak model pretty much on the money as far as elevation goes? I have seen pictures of fine groups, but they are not in the 10 ring. Sory about the stupid question, but any help would be great.

My 5" SW1911 shoots right on a 25'. What distance do you shoot at? It sounds like you want the Adj. sight model? Ask your dealer to look at buying from another wholesaler the SW1911's are plentifully. Or shop for another dealer at

The obvious question here is what are you going to use it for? If for carry then get the fixed and drift, etc if needed. The adjustable Target sights are just that Target sights. Though I know some that carry them also.

I usually shoot at 25 yds. All of our handguns have fully adjustsable sights.
Neither me or my dad will carry this weapon. Unfortunatly, Illinois has stripped its citizens of the right to carry. But even if I do move to a state that does allow CC, I would still want to put my bullets exactly where I aim.
But I do see the advantages od the Navak sights for carry use.

It may seem

Strange to some, but each of the three Smith's 1911's I own (Novack lo mt), each shot to point of aim, and do so with about every weight bullet I've tried. Most reloads are at or near Max. May need to drift sights rt or lt to accomadate grip. Adjustables have a way of getting out of adjustment and breaking. Either way, if not satisfied regardless of what you start with, they can always be changed. Harlie
