Probally. Does it matter? No. Not with S&Ws' lifetime service. If anything breaks in your lifetime they'll fix it free, including picking up the shipping tab.
Welcome to the forum btw.

I agree with DWDude

But I don't think any of the parts are MIM. Slide stop, beavertail and safety are aluminum. The hammer (and sear?) are Chip McCormick. What else gets made out of MIM?

McCormick parts ARE all MIM. He dropped milled and EDM parts some time ago.

I really doubt the slide stop and safety catch are aluminum. Those are stressed parts and it would be really dumb to make them out of aluminum.

The beavertail in the SW1911 is a Wilson and its cast. Both the slide stop and thumb safety appaer to be CMC.

Yep, that's what I was told by S&W. Although I'm considering changing my thumb safety to a Wilson because I like the feel of their unit.

I replaced mine with a Wilson unit. It took a little more filing on it to fit then it took to fit into my Colt XSE, but it works and feels great.

"Slide stop, beavertail and safety are aluminum".

No, they are not, at least on mine.
I doubt that they are on others.

The official MIM parts list for the SW1911:

Hammer, Sear, Disconnector, Slide Stop, Mag Catch, Thumb Safety
The grip safety is cast.

This information is courtesy of JRD. (He is the first three letters in your Ser number. )

On my SW1911Sc the FP Stop is also MIM. I suspect all pins and the plunger tube is MIM.

Anybody know how/ what the extractor is made of/ from.

Bluetooth is correct that firing pin stops are now MIM. Plunger tubes and pins are not MIM though.
Strick909 was correct with his list of MIM parts.
