S&W 1911SC Recall??

I attempted to order one at the store today. The manager later called me and advised that model was being recalled for a problem with the "grip". He added that it was being reintroduced after the beginning of the year?

Anyone know anything about this?

I don't see anything on the web site, but just in case I emailed Kate and should have a reply soon. I'll post when I get it.

If there was a recall the wholesallers would send them back to S&W.
I checked two wholesallers and both were stocked with all flavors including the SW1911Sc.
My guess is the dealer wanted to sell you something esle. When I first tried to buy one a dealer told me his cost was $1,100. I bought one for $699 from a different dealer a few weeks later.

I havenít heard of it, and today I was in the local shop checking out the SW1911SC and Sig (WOW I was mesmerized by this gun, a must have!) GSR. And I asked the guy (whom I trust) if their have been any issues or recalls for either gun.

Im not sure. The context 'recalled' was used in may have actually referred to stopping further production until whatever problem is fixed. The dealer did state the new improved version would be out after the new year. Either way it would be nice to hear from someone in the know.

I got a reply from S&W Q&A this morning. I asked "Is the 1911Sc being recalled". The answer was "absolutely not". There you are.
