You Know that Feeling, right?

That feeling that you owe someone a thank you……

I just became a new member of the STI family by purchasing an STI Escort. Like most, I shopped for the lowest price—well that sometimes just might come with consequences.

My Escort arrived fine three days ago, and today I went to field strip and clean it before our first shoot tomorrow. Things did not go as planned.

The slide froze. Tug as I may, push even harder, that slide was not going to move.

I called the guy I bought the gun from and he was nice enough, but implied “Sorry you are on your own, call STI”……hummmmm…..not the best service, I probably won’t buy a gun there again.

So I called STI, who happened to be closed. So after doing some searching I ended up calling Brazos.

Bob answered. Even though Bob knew I did not buy my gun from him, he took the time to talk me through my problem and help me get this frozen slide off the gun, and then talked me through how to get everything back together again. Now the gun is working perfectly.

What a guy. He could have told me to go elsewhere.

I do not know Bob, have never bought anything from him, but I sure will in the future. Most importantly, he has my utmost respect. What an honorable guy.

What are country needs is more of guys with this character, and less of the guys that I bought the gun from.

Brazos has great customer service.

Bought my 1st STI from them and a 2011 frame. Both times they were very friendly and helpful with any and all questions I had. They also have great communication either by phone or via email. I recommend them every chance I get.

Glad they could help you and welcome to the STI family.

Shiner, out of curiosity, what was binding up your slide to the point that it wouldn't move?

That is what I was going to ask.

Good to know about Brazos. I always try to let folks know about companies/people who give good service.

Still not sure might have been operator error. But when I moved the slide back to allow me to push on the slide stop, the slide just froze. Afraid of breaking something (I am new to STI), I immediately sought help. Bob thought it might be a spring. It was also just about impossible to to out the slide stop from the right side of the gun. But after finagling and being patient I was able to get everything apart. I inspected closely. No bent springs, everything got cleaned and lubed and went back together fine. So operator error? Maybe, I hope not, but as of now all seems good. I finally get to shoot it on Wednesday. I'll let you know how I do and how she does. Thanks again for the support guys.
