Pricing on trp hrt?

Found one local for $1650.

I know what makes a trp a trp but what makes it an hrt?

A TRP is not a HRT gun. The HRT guns are professionals. They are made in the SA custom shop. The TRP is similar but factory made. Pros sell for 2700 TRPs around 1500.

What makes you believe it is an "HRT"...?

This does

The slide said TRP on it. So it looked like a TRP / HRT to me.

I figured a forum for Springfield 1911's would like to talk about Springfield 1911's.

Mislabeled. Unless it says PROFESSIONAL on the slide it's not an HRT.

Thanks. I'll go back and look for Professional on the slide. If it's on there, I'm buying it for $1650

I deleted my initial response to your posting because I misread it (your post) initially. I wasn't suggesting that you delete your post.

I will now can say that your prospective purchase is being misrepresented by the seller.

lol, I never saw your first post.

I'm not sure I'll make a big stink at Gander Mountain about it. But I am going to go back and look at it.

So, at $1650 it's not a deal even for 'just' a TRP?

That's about the going rate for a trp. You could do better, but if it's local I say buy it if you want it.

if it were an HRT gun, it would have an HRT pre-fix, as well as the Custom Shop marking on the slide.
HRT's also have cocobolo grips and a S&A magwell.

TRP's are ~$1495 or less in my area.
TRP Operators are ~$1595 here.

As Quack said, its a TRP - not a Professional. Gander Mountain is misleading folks.

Retail around here (phx) is $1450 plus 9.5% tax. You could probably find a nib example on one of the on-line auctions for $1350ish or a lightly used example for $1200. Another hundy for shipping and ffl fees and you're in business.
Springfield's cover-nearly-everything-warranty-even-for second-owners will protect you should you inadvertantly acquire a stinker--which isn't likely.

I agree with everyone else. I don't think that is a custom shop gun. I have a TRP and my understanding is (someone correct me if I'm wrong) the TRP is a production copy of the Pro model. The TRP is made with minor hand fitting, MIM parts, and a Storm Lake barrel. The Pro model is built to FBI HRT specs. I think they use Nowlin barrels and aftermarket parts like Wilson and others. They are all hand fit in the custom shop. I paid $1000 for my TRP used but looked new.

Everyone nailed it. TO add- a pro for sale will usually have a CRG prefix (I think that's it) the HRT's go to LE only I believe though a few have made it out to public hands.

I wouldn't pay 1650. You can find a new one for less than 1400 online and avoid tax.

I guess you could always call and order one from the Custom Shop.
