Help needed with this unfinished Caspian

Hello,

I inherited this project and sadly do not know why progress stopped, or what parts were intended for use.

Does anyone know what kind of sight this was being set up for? I have browsed some catalogs and asked at a local gun shop. I hope the photos work and appreciate any help.

Millett Dual Crimp front sight setup.
Sights and tools no longer made, maybe NOS on eBay.
Otherwise weld up and remachine.

No rear sight cut at all, suit yourself.

Any chance that the original owner was a bullseye shooter? If so a base that covers the entire top of the slide could be used to add a red dot sight.. It would cover the holes in the front. I know Rock River still makes a base. Other were Clark and Bob Marvel.

Rock River Rib Rocks

I have a Rock River Bullseye Rib on one Pistol and have been very happy. See https://www.rockriverarms.com/index....tegory_ID=1683 for details.

Thanks for the idea. I had not thought about a rail. I do not think that was the direction my dad was going but still a option. I purchased a dual crimp sight off ebay but without the install tool it may not help. I also asked Novak about welding and dovetailing and that is a option. I suppose the variable now is how much do I spend on making this slide work before just buying another brand new?

If you choose to get a new slide you need to understand that it may or may not fit properly on your frame. That would mean you would need to have the frame rails welded to build them up and then machined down so the new slide can be properly fitted. Best bet is to have the slide welded and dovetailed for new sights of your choice.

I just saw in the last couple of weeks somebody selling the dual crimp tool. Sorry, don't remember where.
