I agree with jj - I think you did great for what you got! My older brother bought one of the Red Label Ruger's shortly after they first came out, and it is a wonderful gun. His doesn't have the set of ported chokes or recoil pad yours does, but it does have a very nice set of wood like yours. Enjoy!

Cool video from Garand Thumb on the Winchester 1897 Trench Shotgun. Opening of the video is pretty cool he's dressed as a Doughboy in full kit with gasmask and does use the bayonet.
