Just recently, I started trying to learn stamping and tooling/carving leather. I've got a long way to go, but I'm having fun.

I realized I didn't have a holster for my slab-sided FM Hi Power clone, so I made this. It's a Highwayman, but with basketweave on the reinforcement panel.

I had an unneeded Highwayman pattern for a Glock 19/23 sitting around, so just for giggles, I did it to this one too.

And lastly, here's a coaster I made for myself.

Here's a recent one. It's a Highwayman with a black body and nicotine elephant trim, with white stitching.

A Davis Liberty. It rides very high and close to the body.

I recently added a couple of new color options. I was searching for a true tan color (my "saddle tan" color, while nice looking, is more of a gold/orange color), and ended up finding 2 that I really like.

This one is called Suntan.

This one is called Walnut -- I was so happy with the way this holster turned out, I briefly considered keeping it.

Ok, if we are done looking at pages and pages of the same Privateer holsters, here is something different. It is a Ross Leather (South Africa) holster, model unknown. Appears to be similar to the Milt Sparks 60TK, but w/ a less severe cant. I just got it off Ebay, and will be wearing it tomorrow.

Edit: Am wearing it now. The gun rides high but out of the way, and the only slight cant makes its easy to draw from. I have just found my new, favorite BHP holster.

Sorry, I must have misunderstood the topic. I thought it said, "Some BHP Leather", not "Some Privateer Leather".

Here are a couple photos of my new Raider from Privateer Leather.

I've always liked the old Bianchi Askins Avenger but they are long out of production and somewhat hard to find depending on what pistol you're shopping for. This might be the next best thing.

Being new, the holster is quite snug. I know from experience with leather from Wes that it will break in soon and eventually fit the pistol perfectly.

Thanks, Wes. Another job well done.

I've been working on redesigning some of my older patterns as time allows. This is the updated Navigant for the Hi Power.

Looks great.

What I really like is that you have a well worn/used BHP and are showing how great the holster looks with the gun in it. Everyone likes to show a good looking gun newer gun.

Thanks.

I can contest that his holsters are top notch! I have several and no issues or complaints.

Just a quick shout out. I have a lot of holsters from a number of custom leather makers. Traditionally Milt Sparks has been my go to, and still love them.

But a few years ago I was in the market for a new holster for some Hi Powers, I was intrigued by the work I saw coming from Wes at Privateer Leather, he seemed to do a lot of Hi Power holsters so I thought I would give him a try.

I loved the one he did for me, its a great holster in all respects, workmanship is first rate and his customer service was outstanding. I had one small issue with the belt loop snaps, I had him do my trim and loops in shark skin. As I recall at the time he had not been using sharkskin but was willing to use it on my build. As noted, the fit was a bit too tight for my belts. Wes was very quick and willing to send me replacements, at no charge. I appreciated that and he sold me on his products and service right then and there.

Since then he has built a few more for me for different guns including a CZ, Glock among others. Privateer Leather is top notch and will be back for more.

I like and I've held on to some classic holsters and I guess I'm in the minority since these designs are pretty much defunct.

Below are Ted blocker and Bianchi / Chapman front break (top and bottom) used in the old days of competition shooting and El Paso leather belt holster, my fave on the waist carry rig. Fits 1911's and Browning HP's equally well.
