Thumb safety

Is it possible to use other than the Caspian thumb safety on a Caspian double stack? I know other parts are not interchangeable, but the back of the receiver on a Caspian is very close to other style double stack pistols.

I never tired, but I’ve been tempted
If you look at the caspian safety it’s height is shorter than everything else, because it stops on the ledge on the frame which stops it from being over depressed and break, although I’ve ebroken a few
If you take a standard left side safety and cut away everything that doesn’t look like the stock safety and mate it with the stock right side paddle it might work

I've been itching to try a lower paddle safety, but am thinking the paddle would contact my weak hand while shooting? Guess I could remove the left side safety from one of my other 1911's and see how much fun it would be in comparison to the Caspian.

I used to do it all the time, the frame needs to be modified on the right side. Depending on brand of safety used it will require some modification.

I ordered an EGW lowered paddle safety, hasn't arrived yet. Will post when I get into it.
