Detail strip... almost

Finally got the right size pin punches, the wrong but workable hammer, and some time. I found a reference guide online and dove in. The sear lever pin and the extractor pin appear to be made of rolled steel bits and I accidentally busted a bit off the ectractor pin so I'm gonna look into replacing both. Other than that things seemed to go well and I managed to get it completely reassembled and everything seems to be working properly. Still haven't figured out the picture thing but I'll look into it more later.

Oh yeah... almost. I didn't have the right screw driver to remove the mag release.

I've fully stripped down my hi-powers on a regular basis ... I just love working on them.

Seems relatively simple, I'm sure next time even with a smoke break because the stupid safety goes in a bit rough I'll have it down to less than 3 hours. I'm still pretty impressed considering it's my first complete tear down. I'm thinking of looking at the manual and tearing my sardius down all the way after I get to the range and put a few hundred rounds through the kareen. I refuse to have the single shot 12 gauge be the only tested gun in the house.

I love that photo!! But then again, stripping down those old internal extractor HP's has been pretty smooth and easy compared to anything 80's and newer in my experience..,
