Best gun scene in a video game

The description of the 1911 towards the end is impressive.

Ummm... no. Besides the very adolescent way they've dressed the female, the idea that holding a gun gangsta-style allows for a better horizontal sweep of your shots... and then the reinforced slide on the 1911? And the thumb safety making it easier on the finger??? Sorry, a 14 year-old helped put that scene together. Assuming you weren't just being facetious, of course...

I don't mean to sound like an old codger, as in the modern era video games are what introduce a lot of young people to firearms. But unfortunately they're as bad or worse than the movies we watched as kids when it comes to firearms information.

You may spend a lot of money fixing things that weren't broken to begin with. Shoot at least 500 rounds through it first, then decide what you don't like and want to improve. Regarding vintage 1911s, pre-1970 pistols are highly collectible in original, unaltered condition and should NEVER be refinished or modified as it completely ruins their monetary value.

That was the worst acting I've seen since Deathstalker 2. The description? No. Shoulda been:

"1911 .45 ACP. (racks slide) Smooth and tight. (inspects the rest of the gun) Carry bevel... Beavertail... Extended safety and mag release... checkered front strap... tritium sights... Where does someone like you get something like this?"

Polished flats on the slide.... Someone stole my trademark.

You guys are a little stern today. I just thought it was funny due to the fact he ignores the woman entirely when handed the gun. Obviously, this entire scene isn't realistic at all.

I prefer BF3, the 1911 in that game disputes having way less onboard ammo is the best sidearm to use due to having the only 2 shot down in game for a non-magnum and also handles the best.

The newer MGS games have way better gun depictions, MGS4 has you start out the first level unarmed and a drone delivers you a Springfield custom shop Professional operator threaded that you employ for the majority of the game. I used that and the M4 with underbarrel launcher exclusively for my 3rd play through with the rail gun only used when needed due to the story.

Heck the 1911 is in so many games it's dizzying, it's also usually one of the best options aside from running out of ammo.

The only shooter-style game I enjoyed playing was Battlefield 2, which was a basic infantry-style game that wasn't too over the top. Other than that, the only computer games I like are flight simulators, specifically combat ones. Since I can't afford a real P-51 Mustang it's the closest I can come to reliving my childhood fantasies.

The Sniper: Ghost Warrior series has been fantastic. Very realistic ballistics and game play. Been playing Sniper 3: Contracts for a few weeks and loving it.

I don't know... I kind of like pulling my minigun out while in downtown Los Santos, and burning off 9999 rounds on anything that moves. I don't know where the ammo comes from, nor how it's loaded, but it just works.

Video games are like movies. They are made for our entertainment, not our education. How does the character magically carry all those guns and ammunition without being weighed down? How does the character recover from bullet wounds that easily? What is that Russian soldier doing with an Israeli Galil? These questions are irrelevant, as long as the game is fun to play. I was impressed by the scene I posted in the OP, due to the sheer ridiculousness of it, not the accurate depiction (or there lack of) of firearms.

You guys that want realism, play Escape from Tarkov. The weapons and customization is dizzying. Perfectly Russian.

One of the reasons I like Sniper3 is you CAN'T carry all of it. You have your sniper rifle (primary weapon), a carbine or shotgun, (secondary weapon) handgun, knife and a few grenades. And a very realistically limited supply of ammo. And the weight of the weapons not only slows you down but fatigues you faster. Choose your loadout carefully. As for magical healing, not in this game. You have adrenaline packs and medkits but they aren't instant heal and actually take some time to use.
